One of the new opportunities our Meredith campus affords this summer is “Busker Alley” – the opportunity for performance artists of all types to share their talents with our audiences. Utilizing our beautiful outdoor amphitheatre, we are offering the chance to entertainers to provide a half hour of pre-show entertainment from 6:45-7:15 in advance of our evening performances at the new Mainstage Theatre! Audience members are encouraged to come early, bring a picnic dinner or buy a boxed dinner from our new Playbill Menu conveniently located in our lobby, and enjoy the live performances as an appetizer to the main course – our professional production.

Looking for Buskers for the 2013 summer season!Performers of all types are encouraged to apply – musicians of all types, jugglers, magicians, singer/songwriters, dancers, improv troupes, a capella groups, barbershop quartets – basically any person or small group that can provide 30 minutes of quality outdoor entertainment and is looking for an audience. Intimate and acoustic acts are preferred – we don’t want performances that will blast the campus or the neighborhood, but some low amplification may be possible.
If interested, performers should contact Executive Director Bryan Halperin at bryan@winniplayhouse.org and send a demo or weblink of what you can do! Our staff and some trusted local artists will be vetting your materials to ensure that the quality of the performers will be consistent with all the programs the Playhouse offers. There are no age requirements or professional qualifications required. Anybody with talent will be considered! Please spread the word! We have over 60 performances scheduled from June – Labor Day weekend (Performances are Monday through Saturday, plus a Monday matinee) and would love to make you a part of our summer season and have as many nights filled with outstanding Buskers as talent allows! |
